A drinking water advisory has been issued for the town of Watson.

The advisory was issued Tuesday morning because of planned maintenance to the water system.

Residents are asked to boil water before using it for eating or drinking purposes.

This may include brushing teeth, washing fruits or vegetables, as well as washing dishes.

Residents are also advised that showering and bathing is safe for older children and adults, but toddlers and infants should be sponge bathed to ensure the water is not swallowed.

People with cuts or rashes that are being cleaned with town water should be looked at by a doctor before the injury comes in contact with the town water.

Public drinking fountains will also be a cause for concern, as residents are being told not to use the public fountains for drinking water.

Laundry can be washed regularly.

The Advisory will not be lifted until it is deemed completely safe.
