New bows, arrows, and archery gear make for a bulls-eye of a donation for Winston High.

Winston High in Watrous received a generous donation of archery equipment from the Watrous Wildlife Federation on Monday, March 11th.

"They gave us six new bows, a new bow rack, and a new case for transporting equipment to competitions and other outings, said Steve Armstrong, Coach of the archery team at Winston High.

The equipment will be put to good use due to the growing number of kids at Winston High participating in the sport. Winston High currently has 24 kids registered to take in part in the archery program this year.

"It's a big deal, the equipment that we use has to be of a certain quality and it does wear out and need to be replaced from time to time. We had a large increase in the number of kids that participate in our program, so we needed some more equipment, and they were generous enough to give it to us."

The archery team from Winston High have already begun practices. The District Championships will be held at Watson School on April 13th.
