Over 100 workers were trapped underground for several hours on Monday, as a fire broke out at Potash Corporation's Allan facility.

An underground loader caught fire mid-afternoon, with the flames quickly being extinguished thanks to a suppression mechanism in the loader.

With heavy smoke underground, the workers were sent to refuge stations, which provides clean air.

PCS says there were no injuries in the fire, and work is expected to resume on Tuesday.
