The Humboldt Uniplex is hosting the WorkSafe Saskatchewan Regional Workshop on October 30th from 8:30 am to 3:30 PM. The event is free and open to the public

This is the 7th annual running of the event. "It's geared to connect people with information, resources, and tools to improve awareness about emerging safety issues," says Kevin Mooney, Director of Prevention at the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board.

The event is put on by Worksafe Saskatchewan and the Humboldt Chamber of Commerce.

Topics throughout the event will include, Psychological Health and Safety, Back Safety with the Chiropractors Association of Saskatchewan.as well as a conversation between Crestline and the Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Board about Crestline's safety journey.

"By hosting this one-day injury prevention workshop in Humboldt, we hope to reach as many people as possible to help us with our goal of achieving Mission: Zero. Zero injuries, zero suffering, and zero fatalities" said Mooney.

Dr. Doug Pattison from the Chiropractors Association of Saskatchewan will be involved to share information regarding back safety. As well as Shelly McFadden, Director of Case Management and Jack Hardy, Manager, Prevention Services, from the WCB to talk about the psychological health and safety.

The regional event is held in different communities annually, while a larger two-day event known as the Workers Compensation Institute will take place in Saskatoon in March 2019.
