The Water Security Agency says most areas of the province will experience below normal runoff this spring.

Saskatchewan Environment Minister Herb Cox says things could always change, but as of now flooding does not appear to be a pending problem.

"it varies from region to region, along the northwest and west side of the province probably was drier going into the winter than some other areas, that's one of the factors that we look at, where it was at in the fall. We certainly not expecting at this point in time that there will be any flooding concerns"

The east-central and northern parts of Saskatchewan are the only regions where moisture levels have been either normal or above-normal this winter.

Cox said there are no major concerns over lack of moisture at this point, "even if we do end up with a below normal runoff we think our surface water supplies will be adequate for 2016, so we're not in any danger on that side of it."

The WSA outlook does say an area from Yorkton west to Last Mountain Lake is one area where runoff could be above normal.
