On December 10, the Wynyard Hospital Auxiliary held their 6th Annual Festival of Wreaths in support of the Wynyard Hospital.

Everything from wreaths, baking and Christmas decor was up for grabs in the auction.

“The night of the auction is always a fun event for the community,” said Diane Dalman, chair of the Festival of Wreaths Committee for the Wynyard Hospital Auxiliary. “And this year was just awesome. People really enjoyed it.”

With a big donation of $4,000 from the Wynyard Scotiabank, the overall total for this year reached $13,000.

“The community of Wynyard and the surrounding area has supported this event in every way, right from the very beginning,” said Dalman.

“Businesses, groups and individuals have put their creative juices to work every single year, and have donated beautiful, one-of-a-kind wreaths, as well as other items. And every year, we have a large crowd at the auction, ready to bid on and buy everything.”

In the five years previous, the event has pulled in nearly $70,000 for the hospital.
