Seven charges have been laid against a 32-year-old woman from Wynyard after she was arrested for impaired driving in Fort Qu'Appelle.

On July 24, an officer exercising in the parking lot of the Fort Qu'Appelle detachment noticed a van enter the private parking lot.

The officer approached the woman, identifying himself as a police officer. She asked for assistance in locating her missing daughter.

Immediately, the officer noticed that she was intoxicated and escorted her into the building where she was subsequently arrested. A brief search of the van resulted in numerous liquor containers being seized.

Melissa Gordon of Wynyard has been charged with impaired driving, exceeding .08, failing to comply with probation, driving while disqualified, operating an unregistered vehicle, using a license plate on the wrong vehicle and consuming alcohol in a vehicle.

Gordon was released from custody, while her van was towed and impounded. Police also determined that her daughter was not missing.

Gordon is due in court on August 29 in Fort Qu'Appelle.
