Xavier Labelle will be performing the duties of a Hockey Operations Assistant for the Saskatoon Blades this upcoming hockey season.

The 1999 born defenseman has been a member of the Humboldt Broncos over the past 2 years and is no stranger to the locker room of the Saskatoon Blades as he attended training camp with the team from 2014 - 2016.

After the accident on April 6th, Labelle suffered multiple injuries, which he spent months recovering from in the hospital. He had a fractured skull along with a concussion, internal bleeding, about 20 broken bones, and nerve damage which affected his legs and left arm.

Despite so many injuries, Labelle got back into the classroom and ended up graduating at Ecole Canadienne-Francaise in Saskatoon in June. He joined the blades hockey operations staff prior to training camp in August.

Labelle will also take part in the Blades tribute to the Humboldt Broncos for the Blades Home opener on September 22nd at SaskTel Centre before puck drop.
