Unseasonably warm weather has helped Saskatchewan farmers make big gains in harvesting their crops.

A final report from Saskatchewan Agriculture says producers have managed to harvest 95 per cent of their crop - up from 82 per cent last month when cool and wet weather stalled the harvest.

But the report says water-logged roads and fields in some parts of the province will have to freeze before they're able to support harvest equipment - while some crop will likely be left out until the spring.

Saskatchewan Agriculture says yields overall are well above average for the majority of crops but quality is below average due to damage from insects and disease.
