The Humboldt Broncos reclaimed their winning ways this weekend with a pair of victories over the Kindersley Klippers.

On Friday night in Kindersley, the power play was the key as the Broncos doubled the Klippers 6-3. A double-minor against Kindersley set up the deft passing play that led to Spencer Bell’s opener. On the second leg of the double-minor, Matthew Van Blaricom’s slapshot found the netting for the second of the night.

A quick shot off the faceoff by Klippers’ Kayden Ostrom found its way past Ben Motew to narrow the margin.

Jeter Korte got the second period going for the Broncos, and Spencer Hughes followed up to make the score 4-1. The Broncos went on to seal the deal 6-3.

On Saturday night back at the EPA, the scoring was wrapped up by the end of the second period in the 2-1 Bronco win. In a rare occurrence, the Broncos gave up the game opener as Kindersley’s Easton Inglis found the mark. That would be a wrap on Kindersley’s scoring for the night as Brayden Skogstad evened things up for the Broncos with a little help from Marik Mamic. It was Jeter Korte with the winner just 3 minutes later to finish off the Klippers on home ice.

The Green and Gold are in for a test this weekend with a home and home against Nipawin. The Friday leg is in the Cage and Saturday night, Humboldt fans can cheer them on in the EPA. Game time both nights is 7 pm with the play call on 107.5 Bolt FM.
