On Saturday, February 1, 2020, Humboldt conservation officers received information that a moose had been shot and taken on private land approximately 7.5 miles east of St. Brieux.

Officers attended the scene and located evidence indicating that the calf moose had been shot from the roadway. There was no open season at the time and no permission was obtained from the landowner.

The moose is believed to have been shot during the afternoon of February 1.
