With Christmas right around the corner, I get asked a lot what are some Christmas Traditions in your family?

One thing is we love to stay home. I get why people travel but for my family, we just stay home and enjoy the friendly confines of our home. In my opinion, there's no better place to be than watching TV and drinking hot chocolate and opening presents at home.

Another thing we love to do is go to the Soup Kitchen and have the annual Christmas Day supper. Whether you're there to volunteer or to eat food the meals taste just like a homemade Christmas Dinner. Plus, there are so many fun things you can do prior to supper like playing pool or cards. Plus, Santa usually comes to visit and gives presents to the kids.

On, New Year's we have a bowling tournament to ring in the New Year. I'm a pretty good bowler (my highest score ever is 256) and so I usually do well in the tournament but there's always tough competition when you come from a family of bowlers. We bowl until about 11 pm then we all go to one of our houses and ring in the New Year.

Some traditions I like doing at Christmas is watching all the NBA games on Christmas Day. I'm not much of a Basketball fan but after the SportsCentre Year-In-Review show, there's not much on for sports. But then after Christmas Day, I love watching my favourite hockey tournament the World Junior Hockey Championships. There's nothing better than cheering on Canada over the holidays when the best players from the WHL, QMJHL, and OHL compete to see who is the best hockey country in the world.
