The Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association and the Government of Saskatchewan have partnered up once again to bring the Community Rink Affordability Grant back, and the deadline for applications is soon.

“Skating and curling rinks are integral to the creation of vibrant, active, and connected communities in Saskatchewan. These facilities play a critical role in health and wellness, at a time when that has never been more important,” stated the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association in a release.

A maximum of $2,500 will be available per ice surface to help offset the expenses in eligible indoor skating and curling rinks for the 2023-24 operating season.

Applications will be accepted online until January 15, 2024, and a separate application will need to be completed for each ice skating and curling facility.

“Multi-use facilities will need to complete separate applications for skating and curling surfaces. Ice surface is defined as, every pad used for an ice surface (not per building). Multiple curling sheets on the same pad will classify as one ice surface.”
