It was a busy weekend for the East Central 18U AAA Red Sox, taking home some wins at the Western Canadians. The team earned their spot with a silver medal finish at provincials.

The weekend kicked off with a game late night Friday, August 19, falling 5-2 to the Regina Wolfpack.

Things began to look up Saturday morning for the team as the Red Sox took out British Columbia 7-4. The team then took on the North Winnipeg Pirates, ending in a 7-5 victory for the Sox.

The Sunday game for the Sox would not be so lucky, falling 6-1 against the Red Deer CarStar Braves, ending the weekend in a tie of wins and losses for the Red Sox.

“With a loss this morning the Red Sox weren’t able to advance to the finals,” stated the East Central 18U AAA Red Sox in a tweet. “It wasn’t the way we wanted the weekend to end but these young men were dedicated and worked hard all season long.”

This tournament was the last few games the Red Sox would compete in before the season ended, wishing their graduating players good luck in the future.
