The Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association has pulled the plug on the provincial basketball championships and has instead invited teams to attend a one-day competition as a celebration for the year’s accomplishment.  

The ongoing government dispute with teachers and the withdrawal of voluntary extracurricular support meant the regular competition, slated for Moose Jaw, was not possible.  

A release by the SHSSA said the Board of Directors was saddened by the outcome, but it was extremely grateful for all the volunteers that drive school sport. Teams that qualified for Hoopla were invited to a single game against their seeded matchup. 

Games take place at schools throughout Moose Jaw on Saturday according to the schedule listed below.
