On Thursday I had the privilege to speak with former Humboldt Mohawk Football player Kelly Bates.

Bates also had quite the CFL career at offensive guard. He played for the BC Lions, Edmonton Eskimos, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers through his nine-year career. In 2007 he was named a CFL All-Star and would win two Grey Cups in 2006 and 2011 as a member of the BC Lions.

Every year, Bates gathers a group of football players and coaches from Saskatchewan and throughout the CFL to run the Kelly Bates Camp. This is the 13th year of the camp has been run with around 24 schools sending their football athletes to learn skills from the best of the best.

The camp is being held at St. Peter's College on May 4th-5th.

Here is the interview with Kelly Bates, have a listen!
