After a two-year hiatus, Missoula Children’s Theatre is back in Humboldt.

Arts Humboldt, with the support of BHP, Sask Lotteries, the City of Humboldt, Humboldt Collegiate, Humboldt Public School, and various local businesses, has brought back the beloved children’s theatre.

Susie Michigan and Nina Baylon are tour actors/ directors for Missoula and are excited to make a return for its 50th Anniversary,  travelling across the world to help children get into the arts and acting.

“We (Missoula Children’s Theatre) go to all 50 states, 17 different countries and 5 Canadian provinces every year,” said the duo.

They teach kids how to perform a show in just under a week, and explained the process.

“We start with auditions on Monday for two hours, and then we typically start right after with two hours of rehearsal. They learn all the lines, movement, songs, the choreography, in four hour blocks everyday.”

This year, the children will be performing The Little Mermaid, and the kids are excited to take things underwater.

The kids performances will be held on Saturday, September 17, at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the Humboldt Collegiate Stage.
