Stuck cars, closed roads, and post-shovelling exhaustion...all equate to little fun for many of us in Humboldt and area. As much of the adult population in the community sighed a collective sigh when the snow began to fall, the children in the area delighted in jumping for joy.

The recent dumping of white stuff means snow forts, "mountains" to slide down, and loads of fun for the area's younger set. I had attempted to recreate those feelings of excitement I felt as a kid yesterday. For the first time in many years, I donned my ski pants and zip-lined my way through my acreage in Burr alongside the kiddies in my household. It was a blast, and a great reminder to see the snow in a more positive light.

Lots of winter fun is out there to be had...Sometimes it just takes a snow angel attempt to see it.
