Sports night in St. Brieux, coming up on January 28, is set to provide an evening of laughs and entertainment, all in support of the great activities the Kin Club sponsors. The event kicks off at 7:00 pm at the St. Brieux Community Hall. St. Brieux is a vibrant community with plenty going on, and the Kin Club continues to beat as the heart of many community ventures.

Anchoring the entertainment is “Big Screen Big Fun” by LCD productions. Marissa Mark with the Kin Club explains.

“‘Big Screen Big Fun’ is a ‘Jeopardy’ style kind of game, and it’s interactive with the crowd so it gets everybody off their chairs and involved in the entertainment. We have lots of great donations and raffle prizes to be won. We are raffling off a Traeger smoker that was donated by Horizon Fertilizer in Humboldt. There’s going to be lots of dancing after the entertainment is done as well.”

Two of the hosts for the game show event may be known to television and stage viewers, says Mark.

“One of them is Chris Kotlemach. He’s been on the Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise and Dragon’s Den, so he’s one of their TV personalities. The other host we have coming is Magic Ben, a sleight of hand magician.”

The Kin Club is a supporter of various events, some of which are free thanks to their support. The Club has long relied on the generous support of the local business community to help these events. With the Sports Night, the Kin Club is hoping to generate the money to take on things on its own.

“Some things we do for the community are on the last day of school, we put on a sponsored movie for kids and their families to come to at the movie theatre. We’ve done a Halloween Dance for when kids are done trick or treating. They can come to the school, run around, and play some games.  All those kinds of activities are what we are trying to raise funds for.”

As an added bonus for those thinking of attending, anyone purchasing their tickets by the end of this Friday, January 20 will be entered in a draw for a retro Original 16 cooler, courtesy of Great Western, one of the event’s sponsors.

Tickets are available from Kin Club members and local outlets (check the poster below). Those interested in more information or tickets can call Marissa at (306) 231-5954.
