Many know of the tragic loss that some families faced in Saskatoon recently; a kennel's ventilation system malfunctioned, causing the loss of 14 beloved dogs.

Wanda Price at the Humboldt and District SPCA heard about the story was deeply upset by the news.

She felt as though she had to do something.

Recently, some dogs at the SPCA had puppies. 14 puppies to be exact, and then it clicked.

Price decided to name the puppies after the 14 dogs that sadly passed away in Saskatoon.

Price wasn't expecting any special attention out of the gesture. It was just her way of dealing with what happened.

But then the story got out.

It was shared on social media sites and the families that lost their dogs noticed.

Some families even brought down food and toys for the new puppies.

A few families drove out to Humboldt. They picked out what puppy fit the name of their lost loved one and both gave and received some puppy love.

It may seem like a small tribute, but to these families it meant so much more than that.

Aurora, Odin, Kali Bear, Linc, Arden, Ruckus, Cruz, Sadie, Milo, Sam, Max, Anzac, Bear, and Ellie are the names of the dogs who passed away.

Their names will live on through a heartfelt tribute from the Humboldt and District SPCA.
