It's an answer people have been waiting for throughout the year of 2020.

The Government of Saskatchewan and SHA have laid out guidelines and protocols for trick or treating and haunted houses this past Friday. The details were added to the Reopen Saskatchewan Plan at Saskatchewan.ca to prevent the spread of COVID-19 this Halloween season.

When it comes to trick or treating, social distancing is encouraged between other trick or treaters and those handing out candy. Those who are out on October 31 should consider bringing sanitizer on their travels. No candy should be consumed until the wrappers have been cleaned or the treats have been left to sit for 72 hours.

For those handing out candy, consider using tools (e.g. tongs) to distribute candy at a distance. Only wrapped, store-bought treats should be distributed. People distributing candy should also practice frequent hand hygiene while handing out Halloween treats. Masks for both parties are optional.

Haunted houses must be organized to implement one-way traffic flow to promote physical distancing. Use markings or dividers and visual cues in common areas to ensure physical distancing between non-household/extended household members. Cleaning and sanitizing of hands and high-touch surfaces is required before, during, and after visiting the haunted house.
