The Saskatchewan RCMP continues to search for 74-year-old Lois Chartrand.

Lois Chartrand was last seen on August 4th on foot picking up mushrooms northeast of kilometre 30 on Hanson Lake Road (Highway #106). RCMP says she is an experienced mushroom picker and became separated from the person she was with, who began searching for her and called the police. 

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Smeaton Detachment, Police Dog Services and Search and Rescue, an Alberta RCMP helicopter, Saskatoon Police Service Air Services, the Civilian Air Search and Rescue Association, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers, as well as community volunteers are assisting with this search.

If members of the public who are familiar with the area wish to assist, please check in with the search manager. The search base is three kilometres east off of Highway #106, approximately 33 km north of Smeaton. All searchers must be signed in, this is both to ensure a methodological search and to ensure the searchers’ safety.

Please ensure that you are wearing bright clothing and have proper footwear, food, drinks and emergency supplies. Please note that there is no cell service in the area.
