The Watson Taekwon-do Club will host a barbeque fundraiser this weekend.

The Club will kick things off Friday, August 26, from 10 - 6 pm at the Quickstop Parking Lot.

On Saturday, the BBQ will move over to the Esso Parking Lot from 10 - 6, and on Sunday will stay at the Esso from 10 - 4 pm.

“We do a bunch of fundraisers for the Club to help our students go to different tournaments, and every summer we do a BBQ, and this is the first one since 2019,” says Jeff Turchyn, with the Watson Taekwon-do Club.

The BBQ is a perfect time to meet with the instructor and students and ask questions about what Taekwon-do has to offer.

“Taekwon-do is a martial art used for self defence. Classes are Monday’s, Thursdays, and Friday nights from 6 - 7:30 for ages 4 and up. We have a lot of families that are in, so it’s very family orientated,” says Turchyn.

Registration takes place at the Watson Civic Centre on August 30, 31, and September 1, from 6 - 8:00 pm.

Burgers are $4, Hot Dogs are $3, and Pop/Water is $1, with all proceeds going towards the Watson Taekwon-do Club.
