St. Mary’s Villa Foundation has been hard at work this year raising funds to build a new long-term care home in Humboldt.

“In June we held a walk-a-thon and raised over 15 thousand dollars, and in October we partnered with Cottage Boutique and held a fashion show and 50/50 and raffle and raised 9 thousand dollars and [in November] we raised 10 thousand dollars to receive a 30 thousand dollar donation for a total of 40 thousand dollars to purchase 14 much needed new beds for our residents,” stated Donna Muench, Executive Director of the St. Mary’s Villa Foundation.

Muench stated that there was a struggle to get back into the fundraising mindset after COVID-19 impacted the world.

“Our priorities right now are raising dollars for our residents' current needs as well as raising dollars to fund the equipment and furnishings for our new villa.”

Muench says the Foundation is currently working on their 2024 schedule and is getting excited for the Government of Saskatchewan to announce the new building once plans are in place.

“On behalf of myself, and the board of the St. Mary’s Villa Foundation, along with the residents and staff at St. Mary’s Villa; we would like to thank everyone for their past and future support, and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday.”
