The Humboldt Hammerheads were on the road once again this weekend, up to Melfort and Nipawin for a doubleheader weekend of swim meets.

Fifty Hammerheads made the trip to Melfort for Saturday's meet hosted by the Marlins.

The Hammerheads faced the longer races for the first time this season. Previous personal best times fell as the swimmers shaved off time in races they swam for the first time in competition this season.

A number of swimmers faced new races, whether longer distances or new strokes, and did very well in their new challenge.

Aggregate medals were awarded at the end of the day to the top 3 high point athletes in each age group.

Medals awarded in Melfort went to

Sawyer Hillestad – Bronze 7-8 Girls

Jorja Yeager – Silver 7-8 Girls

After a wild weather night in the area, the skies were clear on Sunday morning with a breeze for the start of the Nipawin meet. This was the first trip for the Hammerheads to the new pool facility in Nipawin. The nice weather made for another great day in the pool.
