Another Football championship for Muenster's Rienna Rueve.

The Defensive Back not only won the Western Women's Canadian Football League this season, but was also on Team Saskatchewan for the National Women's Championship that was held in Regina.

She talks about the team that was put together.

"We had member of the Saskatoon Valkyries and the Regina Riot take part in two tryout camps before our seasons were finished, and I went to both camps, and the coaches made their selection, and ended up choosing 18 from one, and 18 from the other, and made this team to come to Nationals.  I was lucky enough to be a part of it."

Rueve talks about the first game of the tournament against New Brunswick, a game in which they won 58-0.

"We were a little bit slow to start. I think both on both offence and defence, seeing as it was actually the first time we actually played together. Things kind of just started rolling and we didn't turn around. Offence kept scoring, and defence kept stopping them, and it was just a really fun game to be a part of. Everybody got in, we played through starters and non-starters, and it was just a really good start to the tournament."

Team Sask would go on to win the tournament, beating Quebec in the final 34-22.

Rueve reflects on the 2016 Football season.

"This year's just been unbelievable. To be completely healthy the whole year, I'm less than a year post-second A.C.L. surgery, and to come through with two championships, it's just surreal. Everything is just unbelievable."

Rueve also discussed trying out for the National team, saying it is certainly something on her mind.
