The Under-16 "C" girls softball provincials will take place in Muenster beginning Friday afternoon.

Coach of the Muenster A's, Jewel Varga says they are hoping to improve on last year's semi final loss.

"We have second year players and first year players, we've been together for probably ten years maybe. Playing together, just adding and deleting some younger and older players depending on what provincials we're at."

Seven teams will converge on Muenster for the three day event.

Varga explains more about the schedule.

"The tournament actually starts at 1:30 Friday, that's when we play. There is another game at 3:30 then two of them at 6:30 that night. The finals will be at 2 o'clock Sunday.

Other teams participating are the Moosomin Fury, Langenburg, Dinsmore Diamondbacks, Kindersley Royals, Kerrobert Kougars and Macklin Lakers.

Shelby Engel plays third base for the host team, she says she's excited for the weekend.

"It's a lot of fun, the coaches work hard and put a lot of effort into it, I really enjoy playing."

The cost is $20 for a weekend pass or $10 per day, under 15 is free.

There will be concession and 50/50 draws all weekend long as well.
