The North East Rangers, a team comprised of players from six northeast communities, won the Midget AA Tier 3 provincial championship on Sunday.
Held in Saskatoon, the Rangers ran the table throughout the weekend to capture the championship.
In the round robin, they defeated the Wynyard Blues 13-10 in their first game. In Game 2, it was an 8-7 win over Meadow Lake. Their third game saw a 13-8 win over Saskatoon, while they ended the round robin with a 13-2 win over Yorkton.
In the semi-finals, the Rangers earned a 16-2 win over Oxbow, and continued their red hot hitting in the final game, knocking off North Battleford 20-4 in five innings.
Three Humboldt Dodgers - Braden Fleischhacker, Carter Tarnowski and Brandon Hilkewich - played for the Rangers, who had some pre-provincial exhibition games to prepare themselves.
Morris Tarnowski served as one of the coaches for the team as well.
