Residents in Humboldt were able to see, and even purchase livestock and other animals  on Saturday.

The Humboldt Curling Club held the Poultry and Animal Expo today.

A wide variety of poultry and farm animals were on display, to go with pigs, goats, and other livestock.

Sara Pierrard organizes the event every year.

She talks about what makes the expo important.

"The one thing that's really nice about it, is that a lot of people get a different variety of different birds. Typically, everybody just thinks that there's a typical white chicken and a brown chicken. If you look around you can tell there's purple ones, they're all extremely multi-coloured, and with the heritage breed, they last twice as long, so it's really nice for everybody in the local area to see a lot of different animals."

The Poultry and Animal Expo was all about livestock and animals that are under 35 inches in height.

Pierrard describes what all was there to be seen.

"It goes from a wide variety of things. We have from chickens, ducks, geese, goats, lambs, rabbits, peacocks, guinea fowls, eggs, and then we have a leopard-gecko today, and there's a lot of artwork."

Pierrard talks about what the funds will be going towards.

"Actually what we're doing is, Humboldt is trying to get an organization going to where we can have more demolition derbies and stuff like that, so all of the funding is going towards them to get land, and hopefully expand further with more exhibition stuff."

The Expo was held in the Humboldt Curling Club through out the day.
