Rich Hildebrandt, Conservation Officer in the area has commented on the following whitetail that was killed by an unknown suspect or suspects between Engelfeld and Leroy.

In 2016 there were 25 reports of poaching in Humboldt and surrounding area according to Hildebrandt, But province-wide there could be around 1200 prosecutions per year.

"we get these type of calls are common across the province and I guess you could poaching and illegal hunting are common in most areas," said Hildebrandt

The Officer states that problems like these are a shame.

"Not only did you take an animal out of season, but also you left it to waste."
