A late rally brought the game back in reach for the East Central 15U AAA Dodger last night, but the Saskatoon Brewers held them off to secure a 4-3 win at Centennial Park.

The game opened with a single shot homer by Brewers pitcher Daniel Revering followed up by a run from Chas Ohlerking on a single from Jevon Parent to post a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.

The Dodgers answered in the second as Chase Sylvestre crossed the plate on Dallen Rude’s attempted double to score a single in the bottom of the first. A wild pitch with  Brewer Everett Guselle on third cost the Dodgers another run in the second. Dodgers starter Dallen Rude successfully bailed the team out of a bases loaded situation to retire the Brewers in the second.

Brewers pitcher Daniel Revering, who went the distance, and Dodgers reliever Cam Marshak duelled it out in the third, fourth and fifth innings, with both pitchers allowing few hits.

The Brewers would score their fourth run off a miss at home plate that allowed runner Tayvin Larmer to score. The tension would mount for the Dodgers when in the bottom of the final inning, singles from Kacen Hyra and Marek Yeager put runners in scoring position. A sacrifice pop fly by Andrei Aquino drove in the Dodgers third run, but the tying runner was left stranded on third.

Final score on the evening was 4 - 3 in favour of the Brewers. Next action for the 15U AAA Dodgers is on Wednesday June 16 in Muenster.
