In spite of the rain this weekend, baseball was a go out in Muenster with their Minor Ball Day.

The 15U AAA Dodgers were part of the package, and they experienced some learning in a pair of games against the Saskatoon Brewers.

In the first game, the Dodgers had their hands full as the Brewers jumped out to an early lead. The Saskatoon team posted a pair of runs in each of the first, third, fifth and sixth innings. The Dodgers rallied in the seventh on hits by Dexter Rohel and Taylor Coleman, but it was too little too late as the Brewers rolled on to an 8-4 Victory.

In the second Saturday contest, the Dodgers fell behind early and couldn’t gain the traction for a comeback in a 15-0 loss.

It was back on the diamond on Sunday for another offensive challenge with the Moose Jaw Canucks. The Canucks offense unloaded with six runs in the second to tally their nine runs for the game in the first three innings. The Dodgers rallied with three runs in the fifth. Jarett Rude, Dayne Schommer and Carter Huls each posted an RBI.

Then it was all defense as the game would end in a 9-3 Canuck victory.

On Sunday’s second game of the double header, the Dodger bats went to work quickly in the bottom of the first as they jumped out to an early 3-1 lead. Hits by Armstrong, Rude, and Rude’s home plate steal gave the fans something to cheer about.

After the clubs exchanged single runs in the fourth, the Canucks found their groove posting seven runs in each of the next two innings. The Dodgers fought back in the closing pitches, but again, couldn’t regain the ground lost earlier, finishing out with a 16-9 loss.
The Dodgers are hoping for a change of fortune on June 4 as the Cardinals roll into the James Korte Field.
