The wheel cutters and the snippers were out for a special Create and Donate event at the Humboldt and District Gallery on Tuesday. The house was full of budding stained glass artists, many of whom were taking a first foray into the craft.

On hand to guide them was Elaina Adams and colleagues Cadence and Carly from Prairie Glass. Participants were supplied with glass, wheel cutters and nippers, paints and artistic add-ons all for use on their Christmas ornaments. The products would then be taken to be fused in a kiln at Prairie Glass for pick-up at the Gallery.

The idea was to create simple, personalized ornaments with patrons taking home three and donating one to the upcoming Festival of Wreaths supporting the Museum and Gallery. Another Create and Donate event is coming up this Saturday, this time with wooden ornaments to decorate, in conjunction with the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce sponsored job fair at the Uniplex.
