On September 22, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Humboldt celebrated all those involved in the organization.

“Every year in the fall we take time to show appreciation to our sponsors, our donors, and present four awards to very important community members who have gone above and beyond in our agency,” explained Executive Director Jodie Hergott.

The Volunteer of the year award went out to Jenn Hansen.

“She’s a member of our events committee, and Jenn is just that go-to girl when we need tickets sold, and she also speaks pretty positively and passionately about Big Brothers Big Sisters in the community.”

Alongside Hansen, there was the recipient of the Tyler Bieber Mentor of the Year award, Brent Hergott.

“Brent has been matched with his little for about four years now. He’s just an awesome match and puts in the extra effort to make sure their time together is well spent.”

As always, the organization has a champion award, and this year it went to the Humboldt Co-op.

“They have supported us over the course of the last few years, and it's nice we can count on such an established business to champion for us in the community.”

The final award was the Brody Hinz Youth of the Year Award, with the recipient being Clara Martin.

“Clara is just so deserving of this award and was just ticked to be awarded it this year.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Humboldt says in a release that it takes a team for them to accomplish all that they do and are forever thankful for everyone in the community who supports them time and time again.
