Are you an aspiring or established photographer or videographer with a love for showcasing Saskatchewan views, wildlife, and activities?

The 2024 ExploreSask Photo Contest launched yesterday.

From now until September 15, 2024, amateur and professional photographers and videographers can submit their entries. Categories this year include:

  1. People and Places

  1. Prairie

  1. Wildlife

  1. Winter

  1. Woods and Water

  1. Video

"It's really heartening for us just to see all of these wonderful images coming in, and seeing people are out exploring and having adventures, and capturing some of that on camera and sharing it," said Amy McInnis, vice president of marketing and communications with Tourism Saskatchewan.

"A lot of these images make appearances throughout the year as well in some things like our Saskatchewan travel guide, calendars, marketing. It's really just a celebration of diversity of landscapes and the stories of our people," she added.

Those entering this year's contest will only be eligible to win in one category (with photographs also being eligible for the Grand Prize).

The winner of each photography category will get a $500 Visa gif card, and the winner of the Video category will receive a $1000 Visa gift card.

Full details on the categories and contest can be found on the Tourism Saskatchewan website here. Questions can be called in the Tourism Saskatchewan at 1-877-237-2273.

Last year's competition saw over 4,300 entries, with Moose Jaw's Michael St. Laurent winning in the People & Places category.
