Humboldt’s Jubilee Hall at the Uniplex will be the site of a popup walk-in vaccination clinic on Saturday, June 19 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The clinic is only for those who have not yet received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

The clinic is one of many that the government and the SHA have authorized throughout the province to mobilize the last of those residents who have yet to receive a first dose. The seeming stall-out of first dose recipient numbers prompted the move to make it easier to access the vaccine. This Sunday marks the start of Step 2 for the province’s Reopening Roadmap that will see some restrictions lifted. It’s also the day on which the province had hoped to reach the threshold of 70 percent or more of the population 12 and older having received their first dose.

This would enable the province to enter Step 3 of the Plan, a removal of all remaining restrictions, by July 11.

On Sunday, retail spaces, restaurants and bars will no longer have seating or entry limits based on health considerations, as long as distancing can be maintained. Household gatherings can go up to 15 people, while indoor public gatherings in larger spaces will see limits rise to 150.

The government continues its messaging that a “two dose summer”, with few if any restrictions, is dependent on the will of the people to complete the vaccination regimen. For now, its efforts are seeing that prospective first dose recipients have the easiest and shortest path to a shot.
