Lawrence Peter Pavelich
October 7, 1931 – May 1, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Lawrence Peter Pavelich, 90 years of Humboldt, at St. Mary’s Villa on Sunday, May 1, 2022. On October 7, 1931, Peter and Eva (Podoleski) Pavelich were blessed with the birth of their son Lawrence. He was born on the family farm east of Kenaston. He was the third youngest of 11 children. Lawrence attended Hilledge View School until grade 8 and then worked as a farm labourer.

In 1950, he married Emelia “Amy” Schneider. They were blessed with their only child, Peter, in 1951. Then in 1952, they purchased a farm west of Bladworth, which they farmed for 42 years. After Emelia’s battle with cancer, they built a new home in Davidson. About 16 years ago, they made the move to Humboldt in order to be closer to family. After Emelia was placed in long term care, he moved into Caleb Village Senior Complex in Humboldt. Due to failing health, Lawrence moved into St. Mary’s Villa, where he received exceptional care until his passing.

Lawrence will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by their son Peter (Debra) Pavelich; granddaughter Carla (Michael) Barlage and their children Logan, Noah and Paige; grandson Cory (fiancée Holly Sabo) and their children Carter Pavelich, Kenzie Pavelich, Karsten Sabo and Maycee Sabo; brothers-in-law Dale Weisner, Lawrence Schneider and Ed Haberman; sister-in-law Terri Haberman; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Emelia “Amy”, his parents Peter and Eva, and all 10 of his siblings. The Funeral Mass for Lawrence was held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Augustine R.C. Church, celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy. Interment followed at the St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lawrence’s memory may be directed to St. Mary’s Villa Foundation (New Building Fund).
