This Saturday, HCI is holding a fundraising event that combines two unlikely activities, badminton and bingo - but it’s a great combination to get everyone out after a snowy week for a wonderful cause. Now, there are new details about the Saturday Bingo and Badminton Tournament to raise funds for Carleen Theissing’s fight against cancer. Carleen is a long-time and beloved educational assistant at Humboldt Collegiate. The funds raised will be used to offset expenses as she begins her challenging journey.

“We’ve added a couple of things, the first one being a pancake breakfast that’s happening at 8:30 on Saturday morning. ” says Kerri Archibald, one of the event organizers, “We’re having a silent auction that will take place throughout the day and end at 4:00 pm. That’s to go along with the badminton tournament and bingo we’ll be holding in the commons area.”

The three bingo sittings will go from 10:00 - 11:00 am, the second one from 11:15 - 12:15, and the third will be from 12:30 - 1:30 pm with the blackout game to follow. Celebrity bingo callers will be on hand to keep the games crackling.

The event is open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend and have fun for a great cause.
