The SaskTel Tankard is underway at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon. The event rolls through the weekend to the final on Sunday.

The event winner is off to the Montana’s Brier in Regina from March 1-10 clad in Saskatchewan's green jackets.

Eyes are on the Mike McEwen squad with Colton Flasch and the Marsh brothers. The former Manitoba Skip crossed the border last year and has been trying to earn its stripes on the Grand Slam circuit. McEwen won his opener against Team Carss from the Nutana.

Some local connections with Humboldt native Kurtis Kalthoff in the mix and the Springer squad with talent originating from Foam Lake and Wadena also vying for the honours.

Six teams are sitting at one win heading into this morning's action.
