Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue were quick on the draw once again, this time preventing a situation that could have been grave in the town of Wakaw. 

On March 5th, 2022 at 5:57 pm Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue received a call for a vehicle fire threatening buildings in Wakaw. One rescue engine and a command unit responded to the scene.

Firefighters arrived on scene to a fully engulfed vehicle. Crews made quick work of the fire having it under control within two minutes of their arrival. Due to quick actions of the homeowners the vehicle was able to be dragged safely away from any structures before the fire was able to spread.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be a faulty block heater cord.
