A pair of local financial institutions are helping with health care of kids.

Manulife Securities/Wiegers Financial and MNP recently hosted a farm estate and succession seminar, which raised nearly $2,500 for the Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.

The seminar was to help raise awareness and brings solutions to problems that many farmers face with transitioning the family farm, maintaining family harmony, minimizing taxes, utilizing capital gains and protecting the farm succession plan from potential marital breakdowns.

Over 50 people signed up for the seminar at a cost of $50, with that money then going to the foundation.

Manulife and MNP are extended their thanks to those who attended and supported the event. It was added that the farmers were quite receptive to supporting the children's foundation.

They are looking to raise another $7,500 prior to the Comedy Circuit Fundraiser Cabaret in May 2017.

The farm seminar was hosted by Michael and Jonathon Barlage from Manulife and Dave Moore from MNP.
