The first of two funding installments from the Government of Canada has come to Saskatchewan.

Over $29.5-million will be split between municipalities across the province through the federal Gas Tax Fund.

Funds will go towards infrastructure projects in communities, be it repairing roads, expanding recreational centres or enhancing water treatment systems.

One of the projects cited in a news release is the new sports complex in Wynyard. The town will receive just over $105,000 to put towards the $8.9-million dollar project.

Humboldt will collect $338,000 in funding. You can see how much each community receives here.

Since 2005, the GTF has provided nearly $500-million to Saskatchewan.
