A local musician got to walk the red carpet along with music's brightest stars in Las Vegas.

Laneise Scharback of Allan got to experience the Billboard Music Awards front and centre on May 22nd.

Scharback describes what she saw in Vegas, and how it felt to go.

"I ended up being really close for Brittney (Spears)'s performance. And that was super different, I had never seen Brittney in concert. I saw so many celebrities on the red carpet and it's literally like all of the concerts you've ever wanted to go to in one night."

She talks about how it all came together.

"My Producer Manny (Mijares) gave me a call and said he had an additional ticket, and it was pretty much 'how fast can you get to Vegas?' That was on Thursday, and the Awards show was on Sunday. So it was like, I had a day to get a dress, to book a flight, and it was super-crazy hectic, and my Mom had never done anything like this before."

Scharback describes her experience.

"Exciting, extremely memorable, I hope I get the chance to do it again. I think it's a brilliant way to take a bunch of artists and celebrate them all."

In her own music career, Laneise hopes to have 6 songs recorded and released, to go along with a music video being shot in Los Angeles.

Scharback has music of her own available on iTunes, with a song titled "Blue," which will have the music video shot for the song in L.A.
