While it may not be an historic number of candidates for the upcoming civic election in the city of Humboldt, it comes close. No fewer than 14 candidates are campaigning for a seat on Humboldt City Council, and three are vying for the mayor’s seat.

Contesting for mayor are current city councillors Michael Behiel and Lorner Pratchler, along with Harley Bentley.

The following have filed their nomination papers and are in the race for a council seat:

  • Michaela Fetter
  • Kelly Herperger
  • Philip Hinz
  • Tawnie Johnson
  • Larry Jorgenson (incumbent)
  • Amanda Kltich
  • Roger Korte
  • Darcy Leonew
  • Megan Macinnis
  • Rob Muench (incumbent mayor)
  • Roger Nordick (incumbent)
  • David Rowe
  • Carrie Ann Schemenauer-Hradecki
  • Caitlin Senko

Current Mayor Rob Muench, who indicated he would not be seeking re-election as mayor, has forwarded his candidacy for council.

Discover Humboldt has been running profiles for each of the candidates and will continue to do so as it follows the campaign up to the Saskatchewan municipal and school board elections on November 9.
