After the snowfall and cooler temperatures, it would be nice to get back to warmer weather, however; a special weather statement is in effect for the area.

Environment Canada Meteorologist for our area John Paul Cragg gives us the details on what to expect for the next two days.

"We are looking at the risk of freezing rain tonight in advance of the low-pressure system before it gets to the province and then as the low-pressure system moves in we see a warming tomorrow getting to minus 3 before the system moves past and we get a blast of strong winds, west winds 40 km gusting to 70 km in the morning tomorrow and then diminished quite rapidly in the afternoon."

Cragg suggests that people avoid driving if possible and if you are out to have an emergency kit with you in case.

With the wind picking up after the snowfall that we received Friday and Saturday we could see near zero visibility for the area at times.
