Residents affected by a large water main break in Humboldt will soon have their service restored.

On Tuesday, a large break occurred on the 100 block of 5th Street. The break also affected residents on the 100 block of 6th Street.

Repairs for the break are expected to take place on Wednesday.

Affected residents will have been supplied with a yellow door hanger to note a precautionary drinking water advisory. A green door hanger will be placed once it is safe to consume water.

The city notes that residents can take water jugs and pails to the Uniplex to access a clean, safe water supply at no charge.

Service was restored to those on the 600 block on Tuesday.
