The Melfort Mustangs saw production from fresh legs in the fray last night, and that tipped the scales in the Mustangs favour with a 4-3 OT win over the Humboldt Broncos.

As has been the case all series, the game was a hard fought and even matchup with both goalies putting on exhibitions. The Mustangs' Owen Nelson, one of three APs called up, put the Broncos back on their heels with an early goal, but Bronco mainstay Maddox Amaral put things back to square by the end of the first.

In the second, Cole Unger regained the Mustangs lead, and then Kelvington product Tristan Ziola, another AP, put the Mustangs ahead by two. Travis Bryson has had an outstanding series for the Broncos, and he finished the second with a goal to narrow the chase.

Halfway through the third, Travis Bryson and Matthew van Blaricom connected with Daylan Weigel on a brilliant three-way pass to raise the roof at the EPA and even it up 3-3 by the end of regulation.

With echoes of the previous night's triple overtime victory still ringing, the two teams sought to clinch it in overtime, but it was the Mustangs' Rhett Hamilton who found the back of the net a little over
five minutes in.

That sets up a game five trip back to Melfort on Saturday. The puck drops at 7:30 with the play call here on 107.5 Bolt FM.
