Two Muenster Red Sox squads rallied through Provincials and came away champions.

The 15U and 11U Muenster Red Sox both took part in their respective Provincial Championship tournaments from July 19th-21st.

The 15U Sox were competing, as well as hosting the 15U Tier 1 Provincial Championships. The Sox went undefeated through round-robin play defeating the Unity Cardinals 6-0, North East Rangers 10-7, and the Regina Pacers 7-3.

The 3-0 record was first overall in their grouping and set up a semi-final matchup with the Lloydminster Twins. It was a close-fought battle in the semis, as the game would enter the final inning tied at five apiece. Ethan Hinz then hit a huge 2-run, walk-off single which sealed the victory for the Red Sox and a finals appearance awaited them.

In the finals, the Red Sox took on the Unity Cardinals. Once again, for the Red Sox, it was a battle right until the final inning. Muenster and Unity would find themselves tied at 15 heading into the bottom of the 8th inning, and once again, Muenster would find the winning run in walk-off fashion. This time it was provided by Joel Bauml, who hit a game-winning, championship-clinching single to secure the 16-15 Red Sox victory.

The trend continued for the younger Muenster ballplayers.

The 11U Red Sox were taking part in the 11U Tier 1 Provincial Championships in Weyburn throughout the same weekend.

Just like the 15U team, the 11U Sox rallied right through the round-robin competition with a perfect 3-0 record, They picked up wins over Lloydminster (12-9), Moose Jaw (15-4), and Estevan (18-4) on route to a first-place finish in their pool.

In the semis, Dane Schommer pitched and finished with eight strikeouts to propel the Red Sox to a 7-3 win over Weyburn and secure a finals birth.

In the finals, just like their older counterparts, the 11U Red Sox took on the Unity Cardinals. In a similar fashion, the Red Sox needed extra innings to dispose of their combatants which resulted in an 8-7 victory and another Provincial Championship for Muenster

Congratulations to all the competitors.
